Wes Buck has over 10 years of systems design and website creation experience. He began making websites as a hobby, and then used his skills to help friends with small businesses. After finishing his education in Software Engineering at the University of Waterloo in 2007, Wes chose a career path in freelance web design and database architecture. Since then, he's had the opportunity to advise many small businesses about how they can use the internet to efficently acheive corporate goals.
A formal education in software design has provided Wes with the necessary skills to make professional applications from start to finish. His strategy involves outlining the specifications in detail before any coding begins, and he uses technologies and practises to create applications intended to be maintained and updated for years to come. This efficient process ensures quality products at a low cost to you.
Wes is a friendly and personable guy who is looking forward to meeting the challenges of his customers.
A significant change in consumerism has taken place in the last decade, forcing businesses to quickly adapt or risk falling behind the competition. More than half of consumers now search for their needs online before consulting a traditional source. If your organization lacks an online presence or even worse, has a bad website, many potential customers will look elsewhere.
To be effective, your website needs to look modern and fresh, while making the visitor's desired information readily available. A fine balance of having enough content to grab a search engine's attention while not overwhelming your visitors with data can be achieved using different content writing, code programming, and layout design techniques.
Wes is adept at creating websites designed from the visitor's point of view. From defining search terms popularily used in your organization's industry to designing a consumer-oriented website architecture, Wes is able to deliver complete online solutions.
Wes asks a lot of questions before he starts creating blueprints for your website. He gives options to help you choose the right design for your project. When the work is done, you are given a period of time to observe your online playground in action in order to request adjustments. For a more detailed outline, check out the standard design process.
This website uses the CodeIgniter PHP framework with a MySQL database. With the exception of a couple lines of javascript, this site is coded entirely in PHP. The GIMP, PhotoShop, and Fireworks were used for graphics design, and Bluefish and Dreamweaver are Wes' IDEs of choice.
